Cook Islands Tourism (CIT) joined sellers from across the Pacific Islands at the 2024 South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE). Held in Fiji's Port Denarau Marina, the theme this year was "Pacific Fusion: Celebrating Diverse Products and Cultures."

CIT, led by Noeline Mateariki (Director of Global Sales & Marketing) and Sarah-Elyss Ezekiela (Trade Manager), attended the 2024 SPTE in Fiji alongside industry partners Turama Pacific Travel Group, Cook Islands Tours, The Rarotongan Resort, Aitutaki Private Island Resort and Tamanu Beach Resort. During SPTE, Cook Islands Tourism connected with over 60 buyers and sellers, with many showing strong interest in expanding their offerings to the Cook Islands. The destination emerged as a rising star, capturing the attention of long-haul travelers seeking a “bucket-list” Pacific escape.

SPTE serves as a premier platform for Pacific Island destinations to connect with international buyers from key markets like Australasia, Europe, The United States and Asia. More than just a business event; it fosters long-term partnerships built on shared goals and a commitment to sustainable tourism growth.

Cook Islands Tourism's participation in SPTE 2024 strengthens connections within the travel industry and is integral in fostering new opportunities for growth. CIT wishes to encourage all local industry members to consider utilising the SPTE to grow their awareness amongst buyers and forge connections. For the newly appointed Trade Manager - Sarah-Elyss Ezekiela, her attendance at SPTE was crucial in informing her work with trade and industry.
