6 days in the Cook Islands
Day 1: Eco bike tour
Kick start your holiday with a true eco-friendly biking tour that not only takes you on a journey to see Rarotonga, but to reduce emissions and greenhouse gases. Explore Rarotonga through this fun and educational tour with your entertaining guides sharing knowledge about local history, flora and fauna, and how you will be contributing to a greener planet.
Day 2: Share the care for Rarotonga’s lagoon
Enjoy your time out on the lagoon with yoga on a paddle board while floating on the clearest waters, or snorkel up close with the turtles and tropical fish. A touching experience, as the care and consideration your guides have for the lagoon life will catch onto you fairly quickly.
Day 3: Maunga Tours
Take to the trails as an ethical eco-warrior and share stories about flora and fauna with your guide. History telling and breathtaking views will accompany your carbon free trek, and your guide will encourage Mana Tiaki (Guardian of our islands to preserve for future generations) by asking you to take memories and leave only footprints. Fresh fruit and light refreshments will be provided.
Day 4: Free Day
Today is all yours to venture out and discover the island and its uniqueness at your own pace. Take a walk inland, have a chat with the locals, pull up a kayak and drift out on the lagoon; the island is your playground.
Day 5: Local Markets
Explore the local markets where a wide range of local food and products are available for purchase, such as fresh food stalls, arts and crafts for souvenirs, pearl jewellery, pareu, rito accessories, fruits and vegetables and more. Ensure to carry cash with you as most vendors take cash only. Be sure to catch the live singing and cultural dancing at the markets as well.
Day 6: Reef Walk
Today’s friendly eco-tour will help you discover the natural environment out on the daring Avaavaroa Reef. Experience striking views of the mainland from the reef, and learn about the reef itself and all its creatures in sight, including starfish, sea cucumbers, sea urchins and many more. Delicious fruit platters and fresh cold nu are provided after the tour.
