As Regenerative Tourism Coordinator, you’ll help bring that balance into practical work. You’ll support projects across community, culture, visitor contribution and environment, helping the team coordinate activities, work with partners, gather updates, prepare content and keep delivery moving.

This role is for someone who is organised, thoughtful and good with people. You do not need to come in as an expert. What matters is that you care about the Cook Islands, can follow through on tasks and are willing to learn.

About The Role

The Regenerative Tourism Coordinator supports the day-to-day delivery of regenerative tourism projects.

In practice, this means helping organise meetings, following up with partners, supporting activities, preparing updates, gathering information, drafting content, assisting with reporting and helping track project progress.

You will work closely with the Regenerative Tourism Manager and the wider Destination Development team to support work that connects tourism with community wellbeing, cultural respect, environmental care and meaningful visitor contribution.

A lot of the work is coordination, communication and follow-through. You will help make sure projects are organised, partners are kept informed, updates are captured and activities move from planning into delivery.

Your work will support projects that help tourism give back to the Cook Islands in real and practical ways, whether through community initiatives, cultural storytelling, visitor contribution, environmental care, partner coordination or reporting.

What You Will Be Doing

Project Coordination
Help coordinate activities, timelines, meetings, updates and follow-ups so projects stay organised and on track.

Community And Culture Initiatives
Support projects that help tourism reflect Cook Islands culture, community priorities and local stories.

Visitor Contribution Work
Assist with initiatives that encourage visitors and tourism businesses to give back in meaningful and appropriate ways.

Environment Projects
Support activities that care for our natural environment and areas of cultural or community importance.

Partner Engagement
Work with tourism operators, community groups, government agencies, NGOs and delivery partners to support project delivery.

Communications And Storytelling
Help gather updates, stories, photos, key messages and content that show the work being done.

Research And Reporting
Support surveys, feedback, project tracking, reporting and general information gathering.

Administration And Delivery Support
Assist with practical tasks such as bookings, documents, procurement, invoices, contractor follow-up and project records where needed.

About You

We are looking for someone organised, practical, respectful and relationship-focused.

You may already be working in tourism, hospitality, community work, environment, culture, communications, project coordination, events, administration or stakeholder engagement. You may also bring strong lived experience, strong local knowledge, transferable skills or a genuine interest in this kind of work.

You do not need to have a perfect background on paper. This role will suit someone who communicates well, follows through, enjoys variety and wants to support tourism that is good for the Cook Islands.

Experience in tourism, sustainability, social development, community work, communications, project coordination, administration, events or customer experience would be an advantage.

Qualifications And Experience

We are looking for the right mix of practical experience, attitude, skills and willingness to learn.

Experience or capability in tourism, community work, environment, culture, communications, administration, project coordination, stakeholder engagement or social development would be valuable.

A tertiary degree, or equivalent learning in a related field, would be an advantage, but practical experience, strong local knowledge and transferable skills will also be considered.

Cook Islands Māori would be an advantage.
