About the Awards
The Cook Islands People’s Choice Awards (PCA) shine a light on the real stars of the Cook Islands — the people and businesses who make our islands feel like home. Rooted in our Kia Orana values, the PCA is a Cook Islands Tourism initiative that invites locals and visitors alike to celebrate those who go above and beyond to deliver warm, authentic, and unforgettable experiences.
Since launching in 2023, the PCA have grown from strength to strength. In 2024 alone, nominations skyrocketed to over 900, with more than 29,000 votes cast by the public. Submissions came from across the globe - with New Zealand leading the way, followed by the Cook Islands, Australia, the U.S., and parts of Europe. The campaign also earned international recognition, taking home a MarCom Gold Award from the U.S. based Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals for its global engagement and impact.
